When purchasing an ozone generator, we must first determine its use, which is used for air sterilization and deodorization and for water treatment. When used for air treatment, low-concentration and economical open ozone generators can be selected. It includes two types of air source open type and no air source open type. This type of ozone generator has a simple structure and low price, but the temperature and humidity during operation affect the amount of ozone generated. The above-mentioned open ozone generator is the simplest ozone device, and high-concentration ozone generator should also be selected for air treatment in places with high requirements. The air treatment is based on the standard of 20-50mg / m3, and the food and pharmaceutical industry chooses a high value. The total amount of ozone (that is, the output of the ozone generator) can be obtained by converting the space size. When used in water treatment, a high-concentration ozone generator (ozone concentration greater than 12 mg / L) must be selected, and low-concentration ozone-treated water is ineffective. The high-concentration ozone generator is equipped with gas source, gas source treatment device and ozone generating device as standard. The small size can be designed as an integrated model with an output of 5-200g / h. Large and medium-sized ozone generators basically exist in the form of units.

1. What is ozone

To understand ozone disinfection, we must first know what ozone is. Ozone (O?), Also known as superoxide, is an allotrope of oxygen (O?). At room temperature, it is a light blue gas with a special odor. Ozone mainly exists in the ozone layer at the lower part of the stratosphere, which is 20 to 35 kilometers away from the surface of the earth. Under normal temperature and pressure, the stability is poor, and it can be decomposed into oxygen by itself. Ozone has the smell of green grass. Inhalation of a small amount is beneficial to the human body. Excessive inhalation is harmful to human health (non-flammable, pure). Oxygen can be converted into ozone by electric shock.

2. Principle of ozone disinfection

(1) Mechanism of ozone inactivation of bacteria:

The inactivation reaction of ozone to bacteria is always very fast. Different from other fungicides: ozone can react with the lipid double bond of the bacterial cell wall, penetrate into the inside of the cell, act on protein and lipopolysaccharide, change the permeability of the cell, and cause the death of the bacteria. Ozone also acts on nuclear substances in cells, such as purines and pyrimidines in nucleic acids, which destroy DNA.

(2) Mechanism of ozone inactivation of virus:

The effect of ozone on the virus is first of all the four polypeptide chains of the coat protein of the virus, and the RNA is damaged, especially the protein that forms it. After the bacteriophage was oxidized by ozone, electron microscope observation showed that its epidermis was broken into many fragments, and many ribonucleic acids were released from it, which interfered with its adsorption to the deposit.

The thoroughness of ozone sterilization is beyond doubt.

3. Advantages of ozone disinfection

(1) High disinfection and sterilization efficiency: The killing rate of bacteria is better than that of ultraviolet lamps, which is 1.5-5 times that of ultraviolet lamps.

(2), broad-spectrum: It has a very strong killing ability to a variety of viruses, bacteria, and microorganisms, and can also prevent mildew, mildew, freshness, odor, and reduce harmful substances.

(3) No secondary pollution: After ozone disinfection, no external factors are needed, and it is naturally reduced to oxygen without any toxic and harmful residual substances.

(4), disinfection without dead ends: different from ultraviolet light, it can reach all corners and even a certain depth of carpets through the diffusion of gas. It can also achieve satisfactory disinfection and sterilization effect on the surface and inner cavity of irregular articles.

(5), energy saving, consumption reduction, sterilization: an ozone disinfection sterilizer is approximately equal to the power consumption of 5-8 UV lamps, the power consumption is a quarter of the UV lamps, and the effective service life is UV lamps 8-10 times.
